Things slowing down, settling in.

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

After many months of my life being absolutely insane and not having time to relax and chill things are finally seeming to settle down. Ever since the dealership closed down I have been going what seems like a million miles per hour trying to pack as many productive things into my day as possible. Even things most would consider relaxing like playing pc/console games or seeing a movie have only been to satisfy and/or convince my friends that I haven’t forgotten how to have fun. When you do them for those reasons they become chores in and of themselves. It just seemed that I had been neglecting my resposibilities and putting off projects for so long that I had become terminally behind schedule.

What really sucks is that this slow down is not because I have gotten enough done that I am running out of things to do. That would be very satisfying. No, they are slowing down because two weeks back a couple of huge rush projects at work had me basically working and sleeping and nothing else. This process systematically burned out my sense of responsibility and left me lazy and ready for a vacation. Now, I do not have time for a vacation. Not even a long weekend at the beach. In fact, all the non-work responsibilitys that got neglected during that calendar week of work have really piled up. Not to mention the side projects I’m working on for my friends and family. As well as the gradual progress towards simplifying my life is now behind schedule. I won’t even get into the rammifications it had on Shotokan training.

So now I’m left to listen to sad pearl jam songs while I contemplate what I might be able to do to regain my passion for getting things done. Hopefully it won’t take too long.
